How the Calibration Process Works
We ensure your Birmingham facility remains compliant through a rigorous testing method:
Environmental Assessment: Before any measurement begins, our engineer evaluates the conditions at your site - checking surface stability, ambient temperature, vibration levels, and any environmental factors that could influence accuracy. A scale calibrated in the conditions where it actually operates gives a far more meaningful result than a laboratory bench test.
Reference Testing & Comparison: A certified reference weight — fully traceable to national standards — is applied across multiple test points. This includes corner load tests to detect uneven weight distribution, repeatability tests to confirm the scale returns consistent readings, and full-capacity linearity checks from zero to maximum load. Every data point is recorded.
Error Identification & Adjustment: Where discrepancies are found between your scale's output and the reference weight, our engineer performs on-site adjustments to bring the equipment back within the required tolerances. In most cases this is completed within the same visit — no waiting, no couriers.
Certification: A formal calibration certificate is issued digitally at the point of service, detailing the equipment tested, reference weights used, results recorded, and pass/fail status. This provides the traceable evidence your auditors, quality managers, and regulatory bodies require.
For malfunctioning equipment, we provide same-visit repair assessments and handle everything from minor adjustments to significant mechanical overhauls, wherever possible completing the work on-site.
